WHO WE ARE?  

CES, Centro de Estudos Subterrâneos de Lagos, is a group dedicated to speleology for a long time. Its main objective is the study of limestone caves and their protection.  Founded in 1976, then with the acronym GIAE (Archaeological and Speleological Research Group) of Lagos, it was renamed CES ( Center for Underground Studies) in 1982, after publication of its statutes in DR. Since its inception, it has assumed the mission of contributing to better knowledge and protection of the Algarve's limestone caves, as well as to the promotion and dissemination of speleology in its technical and scientific aspects.
